Ventura County Arrest History
Ventura County Sheriff's Office deputies and city police in Ventura, Oxnard, and Simi Valley create arrest reports within their jurisdictions. Thousand Oaks contracts with the Sheriff for police service. Other authorized agencies can also make arrests. If a person is taken to county jail, Sheriff's Detention Services creates the booking record, regardless of which local agency made the arrest.
An arrest history is not one official public file. It may mean a recent city arrest report, a jail booking sheet, current custody data, a police incident report, or the arrest cycles shown on a person's own California DOJ summary. Each source has a different date range and release rule. Charges at booking can also differ from charges later filed by the District Attorney.
Ventura Sheriff Inmate Search
The Sheriff Inmate Search is the strongest starting point for present county custody. Search by first and last name or by booking number. The result can show identifying data, booking and arrest details, charges, bail, housing, visiting information, and projected release information when available. Looking Up Ventura County Arrests
No official channel covers every Ventura County arrest. Begin with the record most likely to answer the question, then move outward when that source is silent. Current custody is narrower than arrest history, while a police report may remain restricted to a party of interest or be redacted.

Standard listed charges are $20 for a booking sheet, report copy, calls-for-service summary, or authorized booking photo. Booking photos are limited to authorized persons. The Sheriff cites a CPRA determination period of up to ten calendar days, followed by reasonable production time.

A Ventura County booking entry ties a person to a specific jail intake. It can preserve the booking number, arresting agency, arrest date, stated charges, bail, custody site, and release status. Those fields describe intake and detention. They do not establish that prosecutors filed the same counts or that a court found guilt.

Ventura Police Arrest Reports
The City of Ventura provides an unusually detailed official arrest reports search. It accepts a date range plus optional sex, age, arrest type, and location filters. Results include name, age, sex, race, address, arrest date and time, location, arrest type, charge, and location type. The system is an official city police publication, not a countywide jail history.

The publication excludes minors and arrests treated only as detention under Penal Code 849(b)(1). An absent result may reflect those limits, another arresting agency, or a date outside the search range.
Booking Logs and Recent Arrests
Ventura County does not publish one complete countywide historical arrest blotter. The Sheriff inmate search focuses on custody and booking data. Ventura Police separately publishes city arrest reports. A person released from jail may disappear from a current-custody view even though the agency still retains a report or booking sheet.
For a past Ventura County booking, request the booking sheet from Records & Licensing. For a city incident, contact the agency that wrote the report. Thousand Oaks law-enforcement reports are Sheriff records because the city uses VCSO contract policing.

Ventura County Booking Facilities

The Ventura County Sheriff Office app supports public-safety news, alerts, contacts, and reporting links. Research does not establish it as a complete warrant or inmate database, so use the official web inmate search and Records & Licensing for record requests.

Arrests Are Not Convictions
An arrest records an exercise of police authority and possible jail intake. A conviction requires a guilty plea or finding in court. Prosecutors may decline charges, charges can be reduced or dismissed, and a trial may end in acquittal. Match any Ventura County booking to the Superior Court docket before drawing a conclusion about outcome.
